Every year the FCRSA holds a National Specialty. It is usually in a different part of the country each year. It is a show for Flat Coats only and every venue is available for you to participate with your dog, conformation, obedience, field, etc. The Sweepstakes judges are usually Flat Coat breeders or long time Flat Coat enthusiasts. It is a time for us to showcase our dogs, as well as visit with friends and see hundreds of lovely Flat Coats. It is truly a unique event and if the National Specialty is ever close by, you should make every effort to attend.

We had an exceptional show this year and our very proud of our results!!!

FLATOUT CARBONATED DRINK, FANTA, WON BEST PUPPY IN SWEEPSTAKES!!! This was a huge honor, especially since she is a dog we bred. There were close to 100 puppies, ranging in age from 6 - 18 months old, competing for this win.

Patate won a Judge's Award of Merit (JAM). After picking the Best of Breed winner, the judge will choose up to/or around 10 dogs he or she feels are deserving of honorable mention from the show. It is a nice distinction to win a JAM at the Specialty. Nancy Cavallo, a very good friend from the Bertschire kennel, showed Patate for us. Thank you Nancy, Patate looked beautiful.

Tupac also won a Judge's Award of Merit. Chris did a wonderful job showing him.

Max placed 2nd in his  very large 7-9 yrs old Sweeps class and WON his 7-9 yrs old class. Max also placed 2nd in Stud dog with help from Fanta and Jojo. Stud dog is a class judged on the children the dog has produced. The Stud dog and two children (progeny) enter the ring together. The judges are looking for consistency and overall improvement amongst the progeny. We were thrilled with Max's results, especially Stud dog.

Apollo placed 3rd in his 9-11 yrs old Sweeps class and his 9-11 yrs old class. This was Apollo's first show as a veteran and we couldn't be happier with his results. There were some very nice dogs in his class and we were honored to get a ribbon.

Shooter placed 2nd in his 15-18 months Sweeps class and 3rd in his 12-18 months regular class. Both classes were very large and we were very pleased with his ribbons.

Fanta was having a lot of trouble standing still for the pictures while the photographer was throwing something:)
